Mathias was infected in 1998 with the “dive virus”. In the following years, he helped out in a local dive center to finance his hobby and socialize. He learned a lot about the diving industry and was able to enjoy a sound education, which in 2007 led to his graduation as PADI Instructor.
In addition to scuba diving and the joy of teaching others to dive, he has always been passionate about wrecks and so-called “lost places”. The goal has always dictated the need for equipment and training. So he quickly came to technical diving and later deepened his knowledge in the construction and modification of rebreathers.
The same drive led to sidemount diving in 2010. It should be light, flexible and maybe even the replacement for the heavy double devices. After a short time it was clear that it was the right way.
The accumulated knowledge forms an important foundation for the well-founded education of his sidemount students.
Mathias operates the dive shop “tauchfan” with online shop in Berlin and offers in addition to the standard courses, especially personalized diving training in private lessons or in small groups.
